1. Data controller

The controller of the personal data collected through this website is Juan Carlos Varea Agustín (“the Controller”), owner of the Kite Controller project. You can contact us at kite@kitecontroller.com.

2. What data we process

We process two kinds of data:

• Your email address, only if you give it to us voluntarily by subscribing to our newsletter.
• Technical data about each visit: the page you visit, the domain of the website you came from (not the full address), the page language, the device type (mobile, tablet or computer, inferred from the screen width), the time, and how long you stay on the page. If the link you arrive through names a campaign or network (for example ?ref=x_bio), we store that label. And if you subscribe, we note that the visit ended in a subscription and which of the page's forms you used, without your email: only to know which network and which form bring subscribers.

To count unique visitors without identifying them, we compute a code (hash) from your IP address and your browser identifier, combined with a random value that changes every day. We store only that code: never the IP address or the browser identifier. Because the random value is discarded daily, after 24 hours the code can no longer be linked to any IP address, not even by us.

This measurement is our own: it uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, relies on no third parties (such as Google Analytics), and the data never leaves our server. We do not build profiles. If your browser has “Do Not Track” enabled, your visit is not recorded.

3. Purpose

• Email: to send you news about Kite Controller (project progress, launch date, and the start of our upcoming crowdfunding campaign). We do not send third-party advertising.
• Visit data: to produce aggregate usage statistics for the site (number of visits, where visitors come from, most viewed pages) in order to improve it.

4. Legal basis

• Email: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR), given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
• Visit data: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used. You can object by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser or by writing to us.

5. Retention

• Email: until you unsubscribe or exercise your right to erasure.
• Visit data: the visitor code can no longer be linked to an IP address after 24 hours. From then on the records are anonymous; we keep them for statistics and they are deleted automatically after 13 months.

6. Recipients

• Resend, Inc. — the provider we use to send newsletter emails (data processor). More information at resend.com.
• Web hosting provider — stores the site files and the visit data described above, and may log technical access data (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties other than those listed.

7. International transfers

Resend, Inc. is based in the United States. Any international transfer is covered by the safeguards set out in the GDPR (including the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission).

8. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to kite@kitecontroller.com. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

9. Local storage in your browser

This site sets no cookies. The only thing it saves in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) is the language you choose, if you change it. The Kite team also uses a marker so that its own visits are not counted in the statistics; it is never set for you. That information stays on your device and you can delete it from your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the project or to applicable law. Any change will be published on this page with the corresponding update date.
